  Rose was of slight build, had auburn hair as did her siblings. She complained of sharp pains in her mid-section one day and by the time her husband came in from the fields, she was mortally ill with pancreatitis and died shortly after. She was asthmatic. Rose, had grown up at Augusta, her dad was a mail carrier. In those days a rural mail carrier used a horse & buggy. Rose's sister, CoraBelle was the Augusta Post Mater for a time. Rose's dad had an extra team of horses so one team could be resting when the other was delivering mail.
